The Right To Information Act of 2005, which was enacted by the Parliament on the 15th of June 2005, holds a pivotal role in promoting transparency and accountability within the operations of various organizations classified as “Public Authorities.”Sree Vivekananda Teacher Education Centre Akkikkavu, has been duly designated as a “Public Authority” in accordance with the provisions of this Act, thereby obliging it to furnish information to the public and establish the necessary mechanisms to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability.
Implementation of ‘The Right to Information Act, 2005’
Enacted by the Parliament and effective since the 15th of June, 2005, the Right To Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) stands as a crucial legal framework. It empowers citizens by granting them the right to access information within the purview of public authorities. This encompasses all Universities and Colleges established by parliamentary or state legislation or through government funding, either directly or indirectly. In alignment with the provisions of the Right To Information Act 2005, a designated officer has been appointed as the Public Information Officer (PIO) in Sree Vivekananda Teacher Education Centre Akkikkavu. This officer is entrusted with the responsibility of diligently executing the obligations outlined in the Act. Steps have been taken to ensure the effective implementation of various provisions, including the proactive disclosure of specific categories of information. Such information is readily accessible to the general public through our website, promoting transparency and facilitating the exercise of citizens’ right to information.
Statutory Declaration
The Right to Information Act 2005 passed by the Parliament on 15 June 2005 decrees that organizations defined as “Public Authorities” are obliged to provide information to the public and maintain transparency and accountability in their working. In compliance with the above Act, the Principal, Sree Vivekanand Teacher Education Centre Akkikkavu, has been designated First Appellate Authority (FAA) and the Assistant Professor as Public Information Officer (PIO) and they shall thereof discharge their relevant duties and responsibilities.

Role of Appellate Authority:
The Appellate Authority will receive the appeals as required under the Act – The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005).
Citizens can seek information regarding the activities of Sree Vivekananda Teacher Education Centre Akkikkavu , by submitting a written request with details like Name, address, contact telephone number and particulars of the information sought. The reason for seeking information need not be given. The duly signed request may be addressed to the Public Information Officer,Sree Vivekananda Teacher Education Centre Akkikkavu, PIN – 680519, along with the required fee of Rs.10/-. The Fee shall be paid at the office. Copies of documents will be charged according to the rate fixed by the State Information Commission, Kerala.
